IMPROVE YOUR MEMORY: CARDIO ROCKS!

Memory Exercises are not just brain exercises. There has been much published with good, clean data in the last couple years about the young adult (including teens) brain. We know the Pre-Frontal Cortex where your cognitive skills live for organizing (your thoughts, your time, your schedule, your work, your social life, prioritizing, parsing out the necessary information to store in memory and not, staging your life in general, etc.) does not fully mature until ages 25-27 years. What does that mean in terms of being organized and for memory skills? It means you really want to ramp up compensatory skills to help optimize when you are in a hard developmental growth. Other times in our lives this also can be hard is when we experience trauma, hormone change, exhaustion, illness, etc. Start today with one step: new studies show that exercising at least 120 minutes per week can have a positive impact on your cognitive performance aka improve your memory, improve your executive function skills, reduce stress and keep you more balanced. Optimizing balance enhances all cognitive skills.
