11th Day of Xmas: Santa’s Sense of Direction Just Got Better!!!!!!

Memory Exercises for A Healthy Brain

Improve Your Sense of Driving Directions

Merry Christmas Eve 🎄🎅🏻

Ok so if you read the “Improve Your Sense of Direction” blog post, you might have been practicing visualizing routes this holiday season. I’m happy to say, Santa’s sense of direction seems on track according to NORAD!

Here’s an extra tip: REFLECTION ON A JOURNEY

  1. Think about somewhere new you drove this holiday season. Perhaps it was to someone’s house for a holiday party or running off to a brick ‘n mortar store for last minute gifts.

  2. If you used a GPS, reflect on anything about the route you can like a landmark, a traffic intersection, etc. See if you can retrace your steps in your mind’s eye.

  3. If that was too hard, try going back to your directions on your phone.

  4. Trace your finger over the route and pay attention to street names and turns (left, right, semi circle, etc.)

  5. Try to memorize 5 turns and 5 street names.

  6. Put the phone down and rehearse it in your mind.

  7. When the opportunity arises, see if you can drive there without looking at your GPS.

Don’t forget to leave the cookies, carrots and hot chocolate out for Santa!!
